Your City Council looks forward to another year filled with anticipation for the future of Hamilton. We began budget deliberations in late fall with a possible tax increase of 4.8 percent. Over the past few months, we’ve worked hard to get the tax rate to as close to zero as possible. In response to significant concerns regarding the state of our roads across the City, Council has increased the capital budget by 0.5 percent for various road work projects. Just a few weeks ago, the 2012 budget was finalized resulting in a 0.9 percent tax increase or approximately $31 per household.
