Motion – Restrain Canada Post from Installing Without Permits

I have moved this motion at the April 22, 2015 meeting of Council.

Whereas the City of Hamilton enacted a by-law which requires Canada Post to first obtain a permit prior to installing community mailboxes in or under roads under Hamilton’s jurisdiction; and

Whereas Canada Post has been installing community mailboxes without obtaining a permit or otherwise complying with the by-law;

There fore Council hereby resolves that staff be directed to bring an application to restrain Canada Post from cotravening the Roads-Equipment installation by-law.
