Letter to Canada Post

This afternoon I sent an email to Canada Post asking them to hold off on installing any new community mailboxes prior to the passing of our new by-law on Wednesday.

Here is a copy of what was sent.

Dear Mr Patterson,

We are in receipt of your email stating that Canada Post intends to begin installation this week on the community mailboxes in wards 6-9.

As you know our staff are bringing forth a new by-law respecting the installation of any equipment or hardware inside the city owned right of way.  This by-law is coming forth to the General Issues Committee this Wednesday and will be confirmed by a special council immediately following the meeting meaning our new By-Law will be in place for this week.

Please instruct your installation teams to hold off on their installations until after our people have reviewed your permit applications for your proposed sites.

Thank you in advance

Councillor Terry Whitehead
